Review Of The Use Of Magnets In Orthodontic Treatment

Abstract
For more effective orthodontic treatment, it is essential to establish the treatment objectives accurately and control the orthdontic force safely and efficiently. That recommend an optimal force that produces a rapid rate of tooth movement
without
discomfort to the patient or ensuing tissue damage such as alveolar bone loss and root resorption.
Wires, elastics, and muscular forces have been the main source of force in orthodontic therapy. Recently magnetic forces are considered as a method for more efficient tooth movement.
The aim of this paper is to review the history of the magnetic uses, the types of magnets, and the biologic and clinical consideration of magnets that would help further clinical applications and studies.
